Lifelong Friend Runs Marathon to Support Foxtrot Oscar Cancer
In an inspiring show of determination, compassion, and friendship, Luis Florez – a lifelong friend of Bradley, one of the trustees of Foxtrot Oscar Cancer – became the first person to run a marathon in support of the charity. Donning the charity’s shirt with pride, Luis completed the Brighton Marathon in an impressive 4 hours and 44 minutes, raising over £870.00 to support cancer patients and their families.
Foxtrot Oscar Cancer is dedicated to giving people affected by cancer a much-needed escape by sending them and their families to sporting events. The funds raised by Luis will go directly toward creating unforgettable experiences for those facing one of life’s toughest battles.
Luis’ commitment was more than just a physical challenge—it was a deeply personal gesture. His connection to the cause runs through his friendship with Bradley, and his efforts on race day were a powerful way to get the Foxtrot Oscar Cancer name in front of many more people than usual.
“We are beyond proud of Luis,” said Foxtrot Oscar Cancer. “He’s not just run a marathon—he’s helped us take a huge step forward in our mission. Seeing our charity’s name cross that finish line gave us all an immense sense of pride. It means the world to us as a small charity!”
This marathon marks the beginning of something special. With Luis blazing the trail, Foxtrot Oscar Cancer hopes to inspire others to lace up their shoes, fundraise, and help bring joy to those who need it most.
