The Foxtrot Oscar Cancer Golf Day.
Throughout the course of 2021 the idea of a golf day for Foxtrot Oscar Cancer had been discussed many times however our old friend Covid had made getting this off the ground a difficult thing to do. In the end we decided to make this a smaller event with Team Azure vs Team Carbon, once that was decided we needed a venue and our friends at Revenue Guru were able to bring one of their clients onboard and we were graciously hosted by Cottesmore Hotel & Golf in Pease Pottage just outside of Gatwick.
A little about the course, there are 2 courses at Cottesmore and we played the full 18 Griffin course which has a lovely mix of holes set in undulating woodlands but is still a nice open course. The course itself was in fantastic condition on the day and the greens were playing nice and quick and having had a nice spell of dry weather in the run up to the day the fairways were running nicely to.
The round itself was good with a lot of banter as the game ebbed and flowed from one team to the other however as they entered the back 9 Team Azure began to pull away and hammer home an advantage that saw them win with 2 holes to spare.
The real purpose of the day was to raise awareness and a number of people asked about Foxtrot Oscar Cancer on the day and beyond with a number of social media posts.
The plan is for this event to grow annually and become bigger as time goes on and will become not only a fundraiser but also a key date in the diary to continue raising awareness through sport.
