Amidst the hustle and bustle of London’s Wembley Stadium, a family of four, living with cancer, found moments of joy and respite as they cheered on England’s national football team against Malta. The family, brought together by Foxtrot Oscar Cancer, a charity that sends cancer patients and their families to sporting events, had been eagerly anticipating this day, their spirits buoyed by the prospect of watching the national team in action.
At the heart of this family is Jodie, a mother of two, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016. Her husband, Steve, and their two children, Erin and Rhys, were devastated by the news, but they have not let this stop them smiling and are determined to support her every step of the way.
As a member of online cancer groups Jodie found out about Foxtrot Oscar Cancer. The charity provide cancer patients and their families with the opportunity to attend sporting events to provide some relief at what is a hard time. All funds raised by Foxtrot Oscar Cancer go to the cause and they are currently running a number of fundraisers.
Jodie filled out the request form on the charities website and they were able to secure the tickets for the family to the England v Malta game at Wembley Stadium along with some other goodies for the kids.
On the day of the match, the family arrived at Wembley Stadium, with smiles on their faces. The stadium was buzzing with energy, and the atmosphere was electric they took their seats, ready to cheer on the Three Lions and watched them win 2-0.
Cancer can be a difficult and isolating experience, but it doesn’t have to mean that you can’t enjoy life anymore.
The family’s trip to the England v Malta game is just one example of the many ways that Foxtrot Oscar Cancer helps cancer patients and their families. The charity provides a valuable service to those who are going through a difficult time, and it deserves to be supported.

Thank you SO very much! Jodie is my niece and she has been absolutely amazing and inspirational. She never shows how much pain and heartache she is going through. Apart from the cancer, she has had to face other family challenges but she never complains and always has a smile. She is truly amazing! So thank you for giving her and her family such a wonderful experience.
